Wangdi Phodrang

Wangdi Phodrang, also known as Wangdue Phodrang, is a district known for its stunning scenery and historical significance. The Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, perched strategically atop a hill, commands spectacular views of the surrounding valleys.

Unfortunately, the original dzong was destroyed by fire in 2012, but efforts to rebuild it continue. Wangdi Phodrang is also famous for its terraced fields and agricultural heritage, particularly the cultivation of oranges and rice. The district's serene countryside, coupled with its cultural sites, offers a unique perspective on Bhutan's rural life and traditions.
